How To Make Sure Your Engagement Session Is A Celebration
I approach engagement sessions as a celebration of who you are as a couple at this point in your lives together. The wedding planning process can easily distract from the real purpose of marriage. Your engagement session will forever be a glimpse into your life before marriage. Your engagement session should be an afternoon of celebrating and enjoying being engaged. Here are a few ideas of how you can make your engagement celebration session a fun afternoon together!
do an activity together!
Think of things you enjoy doing together and consider making that the focus of your engagement session! This is a great way to make your Engagement Celebration Session much more unique and special to you. Here are a few activity ideas:
Something outdoorsy like kayaking or hiking
Getting ice cream or coffee
Any hobbies that you share together
Setup a cute picnic
Cooking or baking together
Rent a tandem bike
Setup a camping scene
2. GO TO A LOCATION THAT IS SPECIAL TO YOU
Think of locations that hold a special meaning for your relationship. Sometimes just being in an environment that is special to you will bring out your chemistry and joy and lead to some really amazing celebration photos. Here are some location ideas:
A restaurant/coffee shop that you frequent together
The location where the proposal happened
The place where you met each other
Your favorite park or hiking trail
The stadium for your favorite sports team
Your own home can be a great spot for a cozy session
Committing to spending your entire wedding day with a complete stranger photographing you all day seems like a lot of unnecessary pressure.
That’s why I do things differently.
