I'm just a photographer trying to provide a good life for my dog. I like to build things from scratch that I could definitely go to the store and buy way easier. I love bold color choices and things made with velvet. I love to celebrate.
For my 12th birthday I got a 35mm camera. It was nothing fancy, but it had a neat wrist strap and a pop up flash. I spent that entire summer taking as many photos as I could until I ran out of money for film. When I was 15 I decided I wanted to be a professional photographer. I wish I could say I was some sort of prodigy and started shooting weddings at 16. The truth is I put my camera down and went to college. After getting a degree in Psychology I realized something very important. I still wanted to be a photographer. In hindsight, even in college, before the age of cell phone cameras, I was still always the one taking photos.
I think it's really important that my clients feel connected to me, and I to them. As your photographer, I will forever be part of your wedding day memories. Having a photographer that feels like a friend (because they ARE one) can make the a world of difference on your wedding day. That's why I like to invite my couples and their bridal party over for an evening of board games or maybe an afternoon of kayaking. It helps everyone feel so much more comfortable on the wedding day! That's also why I've chosen to only take 15 wedding commissions per year. I feel this gives me more creative and emotional energy to focus on my couples and provide an amazing experience for them.
